PROVEN LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS
"My passion is for you and this Town. Let's think bigger.
Let's dream what we can become." - Stefan Leggin for Mayor
Stefan Leggin is grateful to have lived in Brentwood for 10 years.
Knowing your neighbors and having a personal stake in the well-being of your community has inspired him to serve our town, including three years as vice mayor. Brentwood is full of hard-working individuals who want to make a better life for themselves, and elected officials have the opportunity to help their community in real and long-lasting ways.
Serving as vice mayor, Stefan took on the roll of ARPA Program Manager, and developed meaningful community programs to support working families and individuals, and help our businesses grow. Working in collaboration, Stefan was responsible for a budget of 2.3 million dollars that directly invested in our residents through emergency housing assistance, storm water management, “aging-in-place” for our seniors, facility and façade improvements for our businesses, and classroom purchases for our local schools.

A champion of environmental justice, Stefan saw the flooding that residents experienced on both 40th Place and Webster Street, and coordinated with Prince George’s County to clear the storm allys that had been neglected for over a decade, thereby safeguarding the life and property of our residents. Pocket Park, now a thriving demonstration garden for native plants, was rescued by the hard work and determination of Stefan and volunteers, providing new green space.

A long-time musician and supporter of the arts, Stefan introduced the “Summer Concert Series” which created dedicated funding for the performing arts for the first time in our town’s history. Looking to unlock the hidden talents in our community, Stefan also created the annual “Porchfest” celebration which showcases local, performing artists.
When the County pulled all the career firefighters out of our local firestation,

leaving Brentwood and surrounding area unprotected, Stefan demonstrated his ability to bring large groups of people together by working with Mayors, Councilmembers, firefighters and community leaders across Prince George's County to create the Coalition to Support Prince George's County Fire and EMS -a community of over 100,000 people advocating for improved Fire and EMS services and systematic changes to the Prince George's County Fire Department.
